Dance Deal is back
For a third year in a row, C&A Foundation is asking Copenhagen Fashion Summit participants to shimmey and shake for a good cause. As in other years Dance Deal will accompany the Summit programme, giving everyone a chance to dance to raise funds for an organisation working to transform the fashion industry. For every dance, C&A Foundation will donate €50.
This year dancers will be able to choose one of three organisation to support. Donations will go to the following organisations:
- Jan Sahas Social Development Society, an Indian organisation fighting for the rights of most excluded communities, concentrating especially on women and girls, and working intensively on eradicating modern slavery in the country. One of their programmes focuses on ending child labour in the cotton fields of Madhya Pradesh;
- Redress, a Hong Kong based NGO working to reduce textile waste through dynamic programmes to minimise the negative impacts of fashion, whilst promoting innovative new circular models. Their projects include the world's largest sustainable design competition, the Redress Design Award, the documentary series Frontline Fashion and a consumer guide, Dress [with] Sense; and
- Srijan, a national development agency in India working to empower rural families through sustainable models of development. Srijan is currently working with WWF India to protect biodiversity and enhance farmer livelihoods through organic cotton cultivation in the Satpuda-Pench corridor of Central India, adjacent to Pench Tiger Reserve.
Do the Dance, get the deal! C&A Foundation looks forward to raising funds to these trailblazing organisations.
